The Saint-Pierre
church of Upigny dates
from 1783. In the pavement on the right side of the nave there
is a very beautiful tombstone carrying the names of Wilbert de
Veyne, who died in 1575, and of his wife Antoinette de Marbais. A number of old statues and the decorated ceiling and walls gve a lot of warmth to a church which seems very common on the outside. Its altars and pews as well as its interior decoration are all 18th century. |
